Leading unofficial Ajax websites 'go black'
On Monday 09 June several leading independent Ajax fansites
'blackened' their homepages and put up a short message in
Dutch. The participating fansites include F-Side.nl, the Ajax Foto
Side, Vak 410.nl, the
Independent Fanclub Ajax (OFA) and the Dapp're Strijders fanzine. The same
message was put up on all of their respective homepages:
Dear Ajacieden,
We have decided to no longer
communicate with Ajax, the police and other
institutions. Several prominent Ajax websites will 'go
black' for the time being. The reason for this action
will be made public in due course.

A few days later Ajax Netwerk also joined in. Their homepage
is still up and they will continue to publish Ajax news.
However, the Ajax Netwerk forum has been closed until 05 July,
in support of this protest actions. Wondering what is going on?
Wondering why Ajax USA is still up and running? Wondering
whether we agree of disagree with our fellow Ajacieden?
We understand your curiosity. And we feel the need to make a
statement.
The Ajax USA staff wants to stress that we have not been
informed about the reasons for this action. Like you, we have
no idea what the reason is for this highly remarkable 'radio
silence'. We have heard nothing whatsoever and only feel sorry
about the fact that we can no longer visit some of our
favourite Ajax websites.
We want to stress that the fact that Ajax USA is still up
and running does not mean we disagree with our fellow fans. The
fact that we continue to do what we do should not be regarded
as a statement of any kind. As long as we don't know what's
going on we will continue our usual service.
Any information from the webmasters of the websites
supporting this protest is action is more than welcome. Please
contact our editor, Menno Pot, at menno@ajax-usa.com. You
can write to him in English or Dutch. Any information provided
will be dealt with discreetly and respectfully. We will keep it
a secret for as long as the organizers of the actions want us
to.
