Day Two
Construction Begins
It really helps having a neighborhood full of engineers and
architects on a project like this. And thanks to Uncle Ed for
loaning me his power tools. Many, many thanks to Dan, Dave and
Matt for lending their considerable expertise, not to mention
their Saturday and much of Sunday, to the project.
It also helps that another friend, Steve, who
works for a construction company, offered to make all the
curved support cuts on a lathe at his shop on Friday. That got
us off to an excellent start, knowing the supports were
perfectly matched to each other. Thanks Steve!

Matt and I took turns cutting the
2x4's...

...while Dave and Dan prepped the
support pieces.
Here you see Dave using the template from Rick's
plans to mark the cut-outs for the coping.

Assembling the ramp structures.
Teamwork helps!
