AT5: Van 't Schip about to sign as Twente head coach
10 April: Former Ajax and Holland winger, John van 't Schip,
is FC Twente's head coach for next season, according to AT5
television, a reliable source for Ajax news. Ajax has not
confirmed the news yet.
Van 't Schip has already stated that the Twente job sounds
attractive to him, but he does not confirm the rumors that he
has already come to a personal agreement with the Enschede
based Eredivisie club.
John van 't Schip (37) played 347 games in Ajax-1 and won
the European Cup Winners Cup (1987) and the UEFA Cup (1992)
with Ajax. He was a member of the Holland selection winning
Euro 1988. He played 41 games for Oranje. Van 't Schip
is currently one of Co Adriaanse's coaching assistants. In
Enschede, he would be the successor of current FC Twente coach,
Fred Rutten, who recently announced to call it quits after this
