Chivu back in squad for Sunday's 'Classic'

10 May: Romanian defender, Cristian Chivu, was declared fit this week and was added to the Ajax squad for this Sunday's crucial home game against Feyenoord.

Chivu was one of the key players in the Ajax team during the first season half. Repeatedly, he did not take enough time to recover from minor injuries. This resulted in a hamstring injury, which forced the 20 year-old to take five weeks of complete rest. Earlier this week, Chivu returned in Ajax-2's friendly game against Racing Genk from Belgium.

Chivu's return come on the right moment for Ajax, shortly before the crucial home games against Feyenoord and Vitesse, in which Ajax can make a decisive step towards the second position and direct qualification for next year's Champions League. (MP)
