23 February: Brutil Hosé will be loaned out to satellite club Haarlem for the rest of the season. After unsuccessful attempts to leave Ajax for English sides Sunderland and Middlesbrough, the 22-year old now has consented to go to Haarlem at last. Two years ago Hosé, together with Kevin Bobson, fiercely refused to go to Ajax' brand new satellite club since they deemed themselves too good for the first division.

But Hosé's career only went further downhill, owing both to average soccer qualities and a poor attitude. Instead of going to Haarlem, Ajax loaned him out to De Graafschap where he never really broke into the first team, only playing three matches. Last year he reached rock bottom when he, as a player of Young De Graafschap, wasn't even lined up in the match against Young Ajax at De Toekomst. Reason: he arrived too late.

Finally, not even De Graafschap wanted the once so promising striker anymore and sent him back to Ajax. Back home he was stored at the Young Ajax team where he had some success by playing a role in their Amstel Cup triumph this season. But it was again a somewhat dubious role. After a good start this season, in which he scored three good goals in the Amstel Cup, Hosé had to miss the best part, the semi-final, due to a six match suspension. In the quarter final against FC Twente, Hosé got into a scuffle and with a well aimed 'uppercut' knocked down Twente's Hulshoff, adding another black page to his own short soccer history.

Together with Kevin Bobson and Andy van der Meyde, Hosé once formed the very talented frontline of the successful Ajax A1 youth team in the mid-nineties. He made his debut for the first team under Morten Olsen on 15 November 1998, in the top clash against PSV. However, he never secured a spot in the team. In total he played 20 matches for Ajax-1, in which he scored three goals.

Hosé will be the sixth Ajax player to join Haarlem. He will be reunited with former club mates Darl Douglas, Serginho Greene, Didi Longuet, Serge van der Ban and Marc Stuut. (BV)
