Ajax reveals pre-season campaign for 2002-2003 season

16 April: While the current season is reaching its climax, Ajax.nl has already announced the pre-season fixtures for Ronald Koeman's team. Most remarkable additions to the schedule are two friendly games in Great Britain, at Celtic FC (Scotland) and Norwich City (England).

After the summer break, Ajax will go back in training on Wednesday, 06 July. Three days later, local amateur side Zeeburgia is the first in a series of amateur sparring partners. After the traditional pre-season training camp in the eastern village of De Lutte, the first professional opponents are scheduled: First Division sides FC Haarlem and Emmen.

A short tour of Great Britain is planned just before the final test of the pre-season campaign and the dress-rehearsal for the 2002-2003 season: the prestigious Amsterdam Tournament in the Amsterdam ArenA, during which FC Barcelona and Manchester United will be the opponents. Free presale for the Amsterdam Tournament (no Club Card required) starts as early as on Saturday, 25 May.
