Ajax-2 wins second match in Amstel Cup

14 August: The reserves of Ajax have won their second match
in the group of the Amstel Cup. Today they beat amateur side
ADO'20 by a score of 3-1. Ajax-2 played with a lot of players
from the A-selection of Co Adriaanse. Knopper, Wamberto,
Heitinga, Cruz, Vierklau and Ikedia all played in this
match.
South-African striker Steven Pienaar opened the scoring
after 25 minutes. Five minutes later Knopper made it 2-0.
Stefano Seedorf (cousin of Clarence) secured the victory some
20 minutes before the end of the game, making it 3-0. The
amateurs of ADO'20 saved face by scoring a goal. After an
ill-advised pass by Heitinga, ADO player Macnack got the ball
and scored the 3-1 ('78)
Ajax-2 is now 99% assured of advancing to the next round.
Only if they lose their last match against Volendam and Huizen
wins their match with lots of goals will Ajax fail to go
