Lobont loaned out to Dinamo Bucharest; Didulica back to
Ajax
14 September: Ajax' Romanian second goalkeeper, Bogdan
Lobont, will be loaned out to Dinamo Bucharest with immediate
effect. He will spend the rest of the season at Dinamo, the
city rivals of the club he played for before moving to
Amsterdam: Rapid Bucharest.
So far, his career at Ajax has not brought the Romanian
national goalkeeper what he had hoped for. He played exactly 73
minutes in Ajax-1, after Fred Grim had been sent off in last
year's Eredivisie game at FC Utrecht. Lobont was said to be
unhappy in Amsterdam, according to rumors in the Dutch
press.
Ajax' technical director, Leo Beenhakker, commented: "It's
important for Ajax that Lobont gets playing minutes. Co
Adriaanse's choice for Fred Grim is absolutely legitimate, but
nevertheless, Lobont is the goalkeeper Ajax will continue with
on the long term. We hope to see a well-prepared Lobont back in
Amsterdam at the end of the season."
Due to Lobont's departure, Australian goalkeeper Joe
Didulica returns from Ajax' Belgian satellite club, Germinal
Beerschot Antwerp, with immediate effect. He played one game
for the Belgian First Class side, against Standard Liege.
Didulica is not allowed to play European games for Ajax until
the winter break. Therefore, 'Young Ajax' goalkeeper, Martin
Stekelenburg, is a back-up option for Co Adriaanse as well.
