Young Ajax winger Kiran Bechan loaned out to Sparta
Rotterdam
03 February: Kiran Bechan will play for Dutch First Division
side Sparta Rotterdam for the rest of this season. The winger
from the Ajax youth was a member of the Young Ajax squad
coached by John van 't Schip.
Bechan (20) made his debut for Ajax-1 on 01 April 2001, in
the Eredivisie away game at NEC in Nijmegen, which Ajax lost
1-0. It was his only first team performance so far. Bechan
returned to Young Ajax, with whom he won the Dutch championship
for reserves teams in 2002 and made it to the semi final of the
Amstel Cup.
This season, four of his team-mates (Nigel de Jong, Maarten
Stekelenburg, Stefano Seedorf and Wesley Sneijder) made it to
the first team. The technical staff thinks it's time for Bechan
to also make the next step in his career. With Sparta, he will
play at least one professional game every week, which is not
the case with Young Ajax.
In Rotterdam, Bechan will be re-united with another former
Young Ajax team-mate: central forward Brutil Hosé, who
plays for Sparta on an amateur basis. (MP)
