"New" Ajax USA surpasses 500 registered users
500th registered user followed Jari Litmanen
from Liverpool to Ajax
01 March: Ajax USA has surpassed 500 registered users since
introducing registration nine months ago. The 500th registered
user, Janet Goodwin of England, will receive a prize package in
recognition of her unanticipated achievement, including an Ajax
jersey signed by John O'Brien.
"I promise I will cherish the shirt," said Goodwin. "It will
NOT end up on Ebay!"

Janet Goodwin and her favorite
player.
Goodwin, who lives in Liverpool, became an Ajax fan because
of Jari Litmanen.
"As one of the most skilful and creative players ever to
play for Liverpool, it was bewildering that he didn't get
selected more. So when he rightly returned to Ajax, I followed.
I've been to the ArenA several times now and seen some
exceptional football. The stadium is impressive, the city is
wonderful and I've made good friends amongst the Ajax
fans."
"But," she adds, "Liverpool is where my true allegiance
lies."
User registration was one of the side-benefits of Ajax USA's migration to
the Frontleaf Content Management System in May, 2003.
However, registration did not hold much purpose for Ajax USA's
visitors, initially.
"There was very little reason for folks to register, at
first," noted Jim McGough, Publisher and Webmaster of Ajax USA.
"Then in August of 2003 Frontleaf introduced content
subscription, allowing users to receive email notifications
whenever we published content to the most dynamic areas of the
site including match and news reports and the History section.
Since that time, we've seen a modest but steady stream of new
registrations."
Ajax USA hopes to continue adding new services for
registered users in future. (JM)
