Myth: "Tickets for Ajax home games are extremely difficult, if not impossible, to come by."
Many Dutchmen genuinely believe this, but it's not true. The reason for this 'myth' is the rather complicated Club Card system, which was extremely exclusive when it was first introduced in the mid-1990s but has since become considerably more permissive. Also, many Dutchmen still believe that Ajax games are always sold out. Untrue. For many years now, league games against Feyenoord and PSV and Champions League home games against really big European opponents have been the only matches to sell out completely. However, please note that Ajax have more than 40,000 season ticket holders. The number of home games to sell out completely may be small, but almost every league or 'European' game comes pretty close. You might not want to wait until match day and purchase tickets at the ArenA box offices, just to be sure.
Fact: Anyone can obtain tickets to almost any Ajax game in the Amsterdam ArenA, by following the simple procedures outlined on these pages. Just click on one of the navigation options at the top and follow the instructions...
The only official way to reserve tickets for an Ajax home game from outside of The Netherlands is to purchase so-called hotel packages or hospitality packages via Ajax.nl. These packages include several extras of your choice, such as a visit to the World Of Ajax (including the Ajax Museum), Ajax's youth complex De Toekomst or a lunch at the Soccer World bar or the restaurant of De Toekomst. Given the usual admission fees for these attractions and the average prices of match tickets, we have to conclude that the packages offered by Ajax.nl are not cheap, to say the least. Yet, they are the only official way to reserve game tickets prior to arrival in Amsterdam.
In most cases, however, it is very well possible to obtain a ticket the way the average Dutch Ajax supporter is used to. Use the links at the top of this page to learn about various ticket situations for the different categories of games.
You can also just buy your tickets directly from an independent ticket vendor. (But be prepared to pay a huge mark-up!)

Important: Official photo identification is required at the Amsterdam ArenA gates for every Ajax game. You must carry your passport with you to every game.
